FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Are your stockings and hats really hand knit?

Yes. Every stocking and every hat is hand knit by me using carefully chosen luxury yarns.

No knitting machines. No mass production.

Every stitch is created by hand, making each piece something truly special.

Are your stockings and hats ready to ship?

Most are!

Stockings, Denali hats, and Denali beanies in the Signature and Heritage Collections are offered ready to ship, along with One-of-a-Kind Stockings and seasonal knit hats.

That means the piece you see is already finished and ready to make its way to you.

Custom stockings are made especially for you and have a longer turnaround time. Current timing is listed on each custom stocking page.

New ready-to-ship pieces are released throughout the season in small batches, and availability varies by collection.

Will you remake a sold-out stocking or hat?

It depends on the collection.

Signature and Heritage pieces are designed to return and may be restocked in small batches throughout the season.

One-of-a-Kind Stockings are truly one-of-one. Once an exact design sells, it will not be remade.

Specialty colors and seasonal pieces may come and go depending on yarn availability.

What are the Signature and Heritage Collections?

The Signature and Heritage Collections are Pine & Poppy's core collections of hand-knit stockings, Denali beanies, and Denali hats.

The Signature Collection is soft, romantic, and modern, with beautiful colors designed to mix and match.

The Heritage Collection is cozy, nostalgic, and inspired by the warmth and tradition of Christmases past.

Both collections are released in small batches and may be restocked, making it possible to add coordinating pieces as your family grows.

What are One-of-a-Kind Stockings?

Each One-of-a-Kind Stocking is designed individually, combining beautiful colors, unexpected textures, and luxurious yarns to create a piece entirely its own.

Every stocking is hand knit and ready to ship. Unlike the Signature and Heritage Collections, these designs are truly one-of-one—once a stocking sells, that exact design will not be made again.

Do you offer custom stockings?

Yes. Pine & Poppy offers two ways to create a custom stocking.

Design Your Own Stocking offers a curated selection of Pine & Poppy colors for a simpler custom experience. You choose your colors, and I create the design.

The Stocking Collaborative is the full custom experience, with access to a much broader selection of yarns, colors, textures, and design details as we create your stocking together.

Current availability and turnaround times are listed on each custom stocking page.

Can I build a matching family collection?

Absolutely.

Whether you're starting with one stocking, one hat, or creating a coordinating family collection over time, Signature and Heritage pieces are designed to work beautifully together.

Because these collections may be restocked, you can add another stocking or hat as your family grows and continue the tradition year after year.

What yarn do you use?

I work with luxurious wool and natural fibers from incredible yarn makers around the world.

Many of the yarns are hand dyed or produced in small batches, giving every piece its own beautiful texture and personality. Natural variations in color and tone are part of what makes these yarns so special.

Finding inspiring yarns is one of my favorite parts of the creative process.

Why are some stockings and hats priced differently?

The price reflects the materials, design details, and time involved in creating each piece.

Some designs feature especially luxurious yarns, multiple colors, or specialty textures, while others are created with simpler combinations.

No matter the price, every piece is hand knit with the same attention to detail.

How quickly will my order ship?

Ready-to-ship orders typically ship within a few business days.

You'll receive tracking information as soon as your package is on its way.

Custom pieces have a longer turnaround time, which is listed on the individual product page when ordering.

Do you offer gift wrapping?

Every Pine & Poppy order is thoughtfully packaged, making it beautiful to receive whether you're gifting it or keeping it for your own family.

Where are your pieces made?

Every Pine & Poppy piece is hand knit by me, one at a time.

Supporting Pine & Poppy means supporting a small American business built around craftsmanship, creativity, and meaningful traditions.

How do I hear about new collections?

The best way is to join the Heirloom List.

Subscribers receive early access to new releases, small-batch collections, behind-the-scenes updates, and launch announcements.

Because many pieces are released in limited quantities, Heirloom List subscribers often have the first opportunity to shop.

Why Pine & Poppy?

Pine & Poppy began with a simple belief:

The most meaningful heirlooms aren't always the oldest ones.

Sometimes they're the ones we choose to create for the people we love.

Every stocking and every hat is made with the hope that it becomes part of your family's traditions—hung on the mantel, worn on winter adventures, photographed year after year, and eventually passed down to the next generation.
